From swimming to Sting Rays to feeding the birds join us on our day at SeaQuest! I’m sharing tips for times to visit, getting the most out of your time and how to save money!
Thank you so much SeaQuest Folsom for hosting us. While our day was complimentary all opinions are my own.

From the moment you walk in the door the experience begins! Social distancing and masks are required to keep everyone safe. You can buy tickets ahead of time so that you’re ready to go! With most single day tickets on sale right now it’s a perfect time to go! After checking in and getting our feeding tokens it was time to head to the tank to visit the sting rays, fish and sharks.

We did the VIP Interaction Bundle so next up was feeding the Asian Otters! These little guys were like busy toddlers and full of personality. Our Otter guide gave us shrimp to feed them, we all agreed these animals eat better than we do. Sourced from local growers and grocery stores like Sprouts, the meals were top notch! We got to do high fives and feed them through the plexiglass, watching one of the Otters clean every shrimp we gave him and the other loved to get muddy.

We travelled in to the Amazon next! A room full of fish, birds, turtles, sloths there was so much to see an interact with. Braden had tons of questions for each of our Animal Whisperers and they all made him feel heard and answered them. Braden surprised us with digging right in to grab a handful of dead fish to throw at these big guys.

Located throughout the experience are Animal Whispers to guide you in your interactions with the animals. You will also find little feeding dispensers to use your tokens in. Once you use a token you would get a handful of food to give to the animals which we all loved!

Wandering around on our own there are plenty of posters and images everywhere so that you can learn on your own. Once we had made our way around taking in some animals alone it was time to get ready to swim with the Sting Rays! The VIP Interaction bundle that includes this is currently on sale and you book your time before your visit. We were with Logan who was amazing, If you can definitely request him!

Before we suited up we got a backstage tour and learned about all the filtering systems and how they grow the teeny tiny fish they feed to their small creatures. The vortex looked like something from a movie but really contained food for the small creatures and every 2 days they are ready to go! Braden prepared the squid they were going to feed to our Sting Rays.

Be sure to check out our YouTube video for all the behind the scenes including how we prepped the squid to feed the sting rays. The kids learned all about the types of sharks and fish that were in the tank, the sting rays are Bat Sting Rays. There VIP Interaction Bundle is on sale that includes the swimming, they supply all the necessary gear too!

Our Animal Whisperer Logan was so patient and answered all of Braden’s questions. Braden was able to take off in the take floating and swimming away. Alice was a little more nervous, it was tricky to learn how to float swim without kicking. Logan was able to use his arm to help guide her around until she got the hang of it. There’s a fun tunnel you can sit in to watch them all swim above you!

After over thirty minutes of swimming and learning it was time to head to the last experience the bird feeding! Larakeet Landing is best experienced by video, but let me paint a picture for you! You use your feeding tokens and an Animal Whisperer takes you in. Quickly find your seat which they prepare the nectar. Let’s just say nothing can prepare you for the feeling of all the birds on you eating the nectar it was wild but so fun!
